Going Under

The Angel of death is calling us
Telling us we have suffered enough
Close our eyes and take her hand
And let her lead us home
But how can we trust her
We are not fazed by hell
For we lived through it
We have seen much cruelty and pain
By people that call themselves human
But not unlike demons in human flesh
Our faith lies in broken pieces around us
And we see blood of those who came before us
Lies are all we know
We have been shunned by our savior
For has sent us to hell
Death is the only certain thing
Let her kiss my lips
And lead me into what they say is eternal happiness
But why do you torture me so
Leave me be
All I ask is let me go under
This body has reached it's limit
And let me go under

Poem of the Day

poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
