Gone Away Poem by and hooper

Gone Away

As you walk slowly out of the room
the thoughts suddenly begin to loom
of all the times that we spent
which so much to us meant
the small things that made us smile
even if it was for a little while
are all coming back to me
but instead of filling me with glee
they are tearing me apart
i cant even begin to start
to tell you how important you are
and before you get into the car
wont you stop and turn around
because my heart has begun to pound
and the tears have started to flow
as the distance between us begins to grow
and the realisation dawns on me
that your face again i might never see
so wont you please stop right where you are
dont you know you' ve gone too far
too late now, you've gone away
and left me with nothing to say
now i stand here all alone
with not enough strength to moan
wishing you had stopped and turned around
but its all still now, there's not even a sound
