Gone The Darkness Poem by Lydia Thacker

Gone The Darkness

Rating: 5.0

Gone the darkness from my eyes
and the chains that bound my heart,
banished along with lonesome sighs,
repelled when our music starts.

In my life I've never known,
even in my wildest dreams,
love, like that which you have shown
and made my heart burst at its seams.

Now eyes gaze out into light,
dazed, but glad to see you there,
accustomed to eternal night -
new colors bloom, new atmosphere.

Your radiance made blue my sky;
at last, my tear drenched cheeks go dry.
