He told me once, 'I don't mind dying,
but I hate to see the children crying.'

That was after he got the Dear John
from his bride-to-be. 'I never thought
that she'd be the death of me,
but here it is, I see.' His LT
told me that he'd stayed at his post
until the end. I think now of the kids
he never had who'll never cry,
'We love you, Dad! Semper Fi! '

We can't have all things to please us.
Dear friend, I leave you to Jesus.
