Good tenants are hard
To find.
From looks alone she placed
Her bags by the door
In need of a place to stay.
We bypassed the applications
& she moved right in.
From looks alone
She was the perfect tenant
Talking about her goals & ambitions.
From looks alone
I handed her the keys to occupy
A void that has been empty for so long.
Not once did I think that things
Would come up missing or broken.
Not once did I think there would
Be multiple maintenance calls
To fix the things insurance
Wouldn't cover.
Not once did I think to ask
If she had renters insurance
