Goodbye Poem by Lydia Thacker

Goodbye

Rating: 4.0

So much sorrow in one small word
-goodbye, so hard to bear.
My life is unimaginable
without you standing there.

I shed a tear at the word,
that final soft adieu,
a tribute to the friendship
I once shared with you.

It's a never-ending word,
that last goodbye, a sound so full of pain
when I think that you and I
may never meet again.

If ever we should meet again,
would you still recall
this person who was once your friend
when you were very small?
