Goodbye Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Goodbye

Goodbye, i'm free
We were heading down the road for months
and it's bittersweet
they say once you feel an emotion it begins to take you over
And the high you've once experienced is occupied now by emptiness

Goodbye, yesterday is a memory
I've been going it over in my mind endlessly
when love is young, it's a weakness we clung to
When it was new to us and as fresh as it was
it left us blown away like the spring weather breeze.

And just like the seasons
The love has changed

Goodbye, love have died
You can't say i didn't try
But it ain't no use in pretending
When the story came to an ending

Goodbye, when love was alive
It was pleasant as a sunny day
A fire sparked and awaken your heart
A beginning worthy of a start

Goodbye, we have grew
So far apart that we never
Took the time to realize
Just how distant we have
Become to one another
Did we really grow comfortable to suffer?
