Goodbye Poem by Tammy Nicholls

Goodbye

Rating: 5.0

A face can tell many a tale
Of a life that's been complete
Each line a memory of what has been
Through many a win or defeat

A face of wisdom which is old
Her age in years are vast
So many stories she could tell
From her long and loving past

Her husband passed awhile ago
Her life is now alone
She has her children which are few
At least their close by phone

She has not but a year to live
At least her life's been full
All she's done has been with love
And wrapped in cotton wool

When the time does come for her
She'll go happily with a smile
At least she knows that what she did
Was so completely all worth while

Yes her children will miss her dear
They will mourn her loss for years
She'll be at rest so nows the time
To shed away those tears

Say goodbye with one last kiss
And whisper I love you
Nows the time to close your eyes
And start your journey new
