Goosebumps Poem by Mitchell Hood

Goosebumps

I've been asked a lot of questions about the poems I write
For many don't understand my inclination for incite
I've been asked how I do it, how I attained this skill
I've been asked if I like it, if it gives me a thrill
People often ask if I'll write them one of their own
Or even, 'Who cares about poetry? ' in a smartass tone
People will ask me if I find my work hard
They'll ask who I hold in the highest regard
If I like Dickenson, Angelou, Emerson, Poe
They'll ask if I've been published or if I want to turn pro
I've been asked how I gained my knack for creation
Even asked from where I draw my inspiration
But if you've ever gotten goosebumps from reading your own writing
Then you know just how I feel and needn't ask me a thing
