Gottesdienst Poem by Dana Lamb

Gottesdienst

I whisper prayers to God
Who wouldn’t listen
Because he doesn’t exist
Beautiful vaults
Rose windows
The only place
Where I can find peace
The enchanting atmosphere
Slowly envelops me
Singing in Latin
Is so very perfect
Melodies of stoicism
Detachment
And my wounds seem to heal
