Does the government seek our trust, or control?
Do they protect our rights, or tighten their hold?
In a dance of power, the question remains,
Do they truly serve us, or is it all just for their gain?
We vote, we speak, our voices ring clear,
But are they heard by those who hold power near?
Our needs and desires, do they truly ring clear,
Or are we just discarded, like useless garbage?
The balance, delicate, a tenuous thread,
As we question the path on which we are led.
For in the end, the answer lies with us,
Do we need the government more, or is it they who need us?
