The doors were open for us again
At Oklahoma’s governor’s mansion
Built with plenty of wonderful rooms
With such a beautiful expansion
Our governor’s wife met us
With such warm hospitality
Because her home was open
For the public all to see
The formal dining room was lovely
Designed so creatively
With a gorgeous chandelier
That sparkled so graciously
The artwork was impressive
That found a home within the folds
Of the beautiful governor’s mansion
Such a joy they were to behold
The daughter of the governor
Had a charming place to sleep
A room that any girl would want
It’s a room I’m sure she’d love to keep
Edna looked just beautiful too
She was all dressed up in red
I’ll bet she’d like to live here also
And could sleep upon this bed
It was a special time for all of us
And I’m sure we’ll be back one day
We thanked our gracious hostess
And then we were on our way!
