Grace For The Race Poem by Edgar James Momoh

Grace For The Race

There is a race that we must run
Which only by grace that victory won
Sure! Nothing but grace that counts
In this race I can't keep the pace
By agility, nor by ability or might
So I cling unto grace for the race

This race is too hard to run
Without the grace of God
Alas! I won't count on my strength
To reach the finish line
By the things I have done
So I rest on His grace by faith

When I am weak and think
That I should quit the race
Because my works aren't good enough
Grace reminds me that, no man
By strength has prevailed in the past
So I count only on His grace for the race

Therefore, let us run the race
That is set before us by grace
And if you fumble along the way
Just remember that it is the G
That counts in the race,
Which is GOD, who gives GRACE for the RACE through Christ.
So, let us run...
