Grandfather Poem by keith murray

Grandfather

My childhood snap,
your war portrait,
each one worn by time.

Your artillery shoulder strap
bonding some future and past security
attaching us to the same eternity

freeing the air of photography's boundaries
through a terrible truth that never dies

as the guns and cameras are firmly held
in hands accomplishing
some unwished duality.
