Gravity Poem by Saweini Laloo

Gravity

There the rainbow finally disappears;
Dark clouds approach and what have we here?
Thunder and lightning bolts hitting down hard,
Turning things from good to bad.

Like the kite that's tethered to the string,
It flies away, disappearing and coming.
It can never really break away
But would always come back for it to stay.

My heart forever tethered, forever will remain
With you and you hold the string for your gain.
Time will come when it will drift away,
But it eventually comes back some days.

What is this hold? What is this this pull?
What emptiness? What urge to feel full?
So far away now from the shore,
But i look at the sea where my heart it bore.

The rain goes away, no longer shrouding the view
And for a moment i see you,
The rainbow glowing distantly,
And i am pulled down by gravity.
