Green Hands Poem by Abdul Wahab Sukhan

Green Hands

A terrain of hot sand under my feet
And the furious Sun over my head
Welcomed me on the way..

The journey was on
With heat and sweat..
In the mean time..

There came a turn traversing the way
With lush green trees!

Waving branches of the trees
Sounded like green hands of Nature
And smack of air seemed like
A welcome song of those shadowy trees

Boughs swung in a fashion to
Hug me under the their snug shades,
So cool and calm break!
Here,

I napped, and refreshed for ahead...
'I am to go now...thanks! '
I whispered in a leave-taking tone..

Right then a gust of wind drifted;

And green hands waved again..
As if someone said;
'Goodbye, have a safe journey'.
