Green Or Not To Green Poem by Gordon D Wilkinson

Green Or Not To Green

Rating: 5.0

They say it is being the proper green
To pack out the bottles collected clean
What of the power to wash them so clean they glint
Is that freely made without a carbon footprint?
Empty cans collected this way
Crushed and reworked but still we pay
Are we really being green today?
Or is it a word with which they play?
So much concrete building they cry
Sends the footprint, sky high
Do they really know or just guess
Their calculations do not impress
Is it just a regular thing?
The way the climate does swing
What is now so uncomfortably hot
Will cool down a whole damn lot
Reverses all over the world
Will that go on when times unfurled
