Grenades Are No More Their Worries! ! Poem by Udheep Mukundan

Grenades Are No More Their Worries! !

They walk on snow and climb mountains so high,
Never stop at valleys when it hurts their thigh,
Greener grasses fall behind in silence and sky turns blue,
Time pass by so do the winter come without any clue.
They could merely feel the metal on the trigger,
And the deadly silence trembles the toughest heart in terror.

The platoon commander leads the troop with no hint,
Their boots go deeper, their visibility blinded by the wind.
Those who made up left no traces for following rangers,
Each journey up the steep meets new strangers,
The humming of glaciers and the echoes in the crevasses,
Is it the calmness of the Nature before the gratuitous violence?

For years and still, the bravest hearts volunteer,
Not for the sake of a promotion in their career.
Those who return have thousands stories to tell
And memories to cherish for years they dwell.
Mere tears are not the reward for their sacrifices,
Salutes to them, from heart, remember them in our prayers.
