Grieving For You Poem by Ray Hansell

Grieving For You

Rating: 5.0

Oh, how I miss you dearly
I didn't get a chance to say goodbye
It's been so lonely here without you
It seems lately, all I want to do is cry

You left so very suddenly
There was so much I wanted to say
But, by the time I got to the hospital
They told me you had passed away

They let me visit for a while
You looked so peaceful laying there
I held your hand as I cried
I hope you knew how much I cared

I had to tell the children
That you wouldn't be coming home
You would have been so very proud
For the strength and courage they have shown

I'm glad we had this private moment
But it's time for me to leave
I have to go and get the kids
So together we can all grieve

Every time I look at them
You know I'll always see you
Remembering all the times
And how much I loved you to

Your feelings are simply stated, yet how they stir the heart. How can the reader not get teary-eyed!
