Guidance Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Guidance

Rating: 4.5

With the guidance of a child
We can learn
To see the world with the purest
Most loving terms

Small children have a gift
That is amazing
At times I think they are
Doing the raising

Their souls are like that of
A heavenly cherub
Free from the tarnish
That needs a clean up rub

Each word of curiosity
Is sincere
Each new discovery brings
A smile so dear

Sometimes they do wrong
Without intention
It is a challenge for us to
Correct with introspection

Losing one’s temper does not
Mend the error
Explaining why and showing how
Eliminates terror

Yes, a small child can teach us
How to respond
With a gentle voice and a hug
That soothes and bonds
