Guilty Love Poem by Miiya Skky

Guilty Love

Rating: 3.0

As the night sky becomes darker, and time no longer seems to be moving.
You begin to watch the one you once promised a life of happiness & never ending love decay into a lifeless state.
Wondering to yourself why? Why does it look like their heart has just been broken?
At that very second of trying to figure out the answers to your question you start trembling in dismay remembering the very thing that caused it all.
The words that were said but not meant, actions that didn't need to be acted on, envy & jealousy that showed a dying trust.
The tears start to form while the feeling of guilt weighs down on you.
What was suppose to be a simple search for passion & comfort from your love ended up in chaos from thy own hand.
Not sure how to tell them how sorry you feel, still knowing nothing can change what was done..
You continue to watch as they crawl into bed wanting nothing more then to forget what is killing them inside.
It wasn't meant to happen this way, it wasn't meant to have gotten this far, the act of rage had come without warning.
The cries start to echo thru the halls, you start to feel the pain you have caused.
Your mind starts to race as you walk towards the bed, gently wrapping your arms around them..
You begin to tell yourself to not let my love fall asleep to a bad memory or a broken heart.
Because they'll only toss and turn throughout the night, trying to remember why is it they love you as much as they do. As the last tear falls onto the pillow that's stained with their pain they begin to drift off to sleep.
Not being able to sleep, you continue to hold them until its time to wake up.
You will be the first thing that they will think of once they wake up.
The usual smile you love to see in the mornings doesn't appear, just a blank stare.
Wishing that they could just go back to sleep, back to the silence where they felt safe from all.
How could you have been so stupid? How could you have done this to the one that holds on to more then your heart?
Their love, soul, happiness, everything that makes them the other better part of you is worthy of much more then what you had bestowed upon them.
Think about it? You think they would of cared as much as they did if they weren't worth the best part of you as well?
I'd break my own heart, before I ever thought about breaking theirs....
