Had I Known Poem by Marilyn White

Had I Known

If it was this hard
I would have never let you go
I hate crying every night wishing
That you are okay and happy
Without me there with you
But then it lets me know
That maybe you don’t need me after all
You can fly on your own
With the wings I gave you
Love is so funny when it is all you got
Left to lean on and keep your going
Still I keep thinking in my mind
If I let you go and be free
When you come back home
You will know how lucky your
To have some one like me waiting for you
I am thinking maybe you should
Ask some of the other people if
They have it as good as you have it
They will tell to keep me I hope
If it this hard to love I don’t want to let go
