Haikus a la mar

Tenue ya el sol,

en la playa desierta

muere el estío

Decae la tarde,

unánimes gaviotas

toman la orilla

La vela al pairo

tumbados en la proa

dosel azul

El horizonte,

la vela desplegada,

brisa y sosiego

En Copenhague

no esperes sirenita

que ancle Ulises

Tengo buen viento,

mañana ¿quién lo sabe? ,

izo la vela

Como pañuelos

tus velas desplegadas

dicen adiós

Han irrumpido

el alba y sus azules:

Mediterraneo

Cruzan los mares

caravanas de plata,

bancos de peces

Sobre las tablas

surfistas con sus pies

dibujan trenzas

En calma el mar

refleja el alto sol,

azogue en agua

Gaviota en roca,

estatua que cincelo

con la mirada

Rítmicas olas

y caprichosa espuma

¡ que gran sosiego!

Cabeceando

majestuosam ente,

a toda vela

Contra las olas

que azoten la cubierta

mantén tu rumbo

Ramo de flores:

denuncias en la orilla

a un mar cruel

Acantilado…

devoraste la costa

hambriento mar

Has derribado

mis castillos de arena

¡ola insensible!

Cielo cruel

sobre encrespado mar

“flash “ para un Turner

Poem of the Day

poet Katharine Lee Bates

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
