Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow Poem by Georgina Murray

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

I can think of none such awful time,
Than this ordeal filled with strife
I may even take my life,
At the thought of losing you.

Those who have admired you-
The clown, those boys, that brute.
I'd never let them see the truth,
All they wanted was to love you.

And as you fell I should have caught you,
My cloth ears, my stubborn wit,
All you wanted was a hit -
Of the love I should have had for you.

Time after time you cried out -
For my laughter and my love,
But all I could manage
Was to tie you up and ignore you.

My mothers love was long ago,
And how I wish I let you know,
How beautiful you were to me,
And of how lonely I shall be...

When you are gone, totally.
