Half Smile/Half Complete Sadness Poem by kayla martinez

Half Smile/Half Complete Sadness

I try to be the best friend I can,
But you're too stubborn to let me in.
Every time I try to get close to you,
You always push me further away.

How can I deal with all these mood swings?
Everything I say turns out wrong.
Trying my hardest to be your friend,
All I do is fail miserably.

Do you not see the affect it has on me?
Even a blind man can see it.
How I truly feel is well hidden.
Only behind this thing called a smile.

The smile only covers half the chaos.
The rest is complete sadness.
I use these because I have to.
Without them, my life would be crazy.

Now I completely regret it all.
Especially since I have to say goodbye.
You're the best thing that happened to me.
Forever, I will remember this!
