Happiness In Nature Takes Time Poem by Denis Martindale

Happiness In Nature Takes Time

HAPPINESS IN NATURE TAKES TIME

Happiness in Nature takes time,
Appreciation, too,
But not all things seem thought sublime,
That is my point of view.
I have loved both my dogs and cats,
And creatures great and small,
But as for fleas and snakes and bats,
I have no love at all.
While Nature fashions scenery
That takes my breath away,
Keep cold locations far from me,
No matter night or day.
Give me one God-blessed sunny morn,
When garden birds arrive,
How can my mood then stay forlorn,
To see each one alive?
I stare with joy as dolphins leap,
And horses race for miles,
And tiny puppies when they sleep,
And purring cats, all smiles.
But most of all, I like cartoons,
When animals get shown,
You know the sort, those crazy loons,
The funniest ever known!
