Happiness Isn’t Guaranteed Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Happiness Isn’t Guaranteed

A notion of love being guaranteed is false.
Did you understand what you were told?
'You can not depend on someone else
For your happiness.' These words are cold.

Sometimes the person you rely on is unable.
Affection may wobble and spin away one day.
Happiness isn’t always long lasting and stable.
Accepting reality and moving on is the best way

As painful as it may have seemed at the time…
There was an awakening that was instructive.
Not every coupling ends with a perfect rhyme.
Good-byes with regrets are counterproductive.
