Are you happy no matter what
Or are you happy because of what you've got
I want to say that some have quite a lot
Yet are they happy, I would think not
They seem to think that the world owes them
They never help out but rather condemn
Then there are others who might have been born blind
But have sight of another kind
Who if you fall will help you to stand
Or when you are down lend a helping hand
They never say a word that is unkind about anyone
When they are around you feel the rays of the Son
I would rather know a man though as poor as can be
That is like this without any money
Than someone who has all the worlds riches
But does not practice what he preaches
Who are you I ask today my friend
Can I lean on you to the very end
To hear you say I am happy no matter what
It is because of what I give and not what I've got
