Hard Times Poem by Bhekisipho Nyathi

Hard Times

Live life to the fullest: so they say
But there are times when there is nothing you can do.
Life's one hell of a journey.
Where everyone is struggling to survive at the expense of the other.
There are times when you look for a helper and there is no one there.
Even with so much a burden to bear.
Yet there is no one with whom your sorrows to share.
All you can do is sit down and groan.
With teardrops and a silent moan.
Everyone minding his own.
With no one to tell how you feel.
Just a heart that cannot heal.
Yet you are supposed to be strong still.
And take a chill pill.
Some days it gets so cold you can almost touch it,
And even more odd you'd swear you're less of a human.
I just hope one day I will stand tall and simply recall the horrific experiences I've had and exclaim:
'That made me stronger! '
