Hard Times For Horses Poem by Janet Armstrong

Hard Times For Horses

Rating: 4.0

The horse is not just a gramnivorous quadruped with forty teeth that works for us and sheds its coat in spring.

It is a quivering creature of emotion with four long elegant legs covering the ground with eloquent ease slowly grazing the green meadows

Fighting fairly to protect her foal from fear while losing the wiry coat of winter supremely transformed to the sleek shining coat of spring.

Living long years loving and lingering in the long grass standing head- to -tail swishing away the hungry flies of summer.
