Harmattan Poem by Jacob Jaycee

Harmattan

Rating: 5.0

I watch the trees dance in joy
Smilling at the world in dismay
Making the birds on it to stagger
To raise and lift their wings in laughter
Making the garment on the line to dry
Papyrus on the ground stand to fly
The breeze comes and move things high
in the sky.

I turn to feel the breeze
My body felt at ease
The breeze moves up and down
Shaking the trees to shred down
The leaves scatters to litter
The gardener fights to gather
But in vain his works are

The birds fly and spread their wings
Making men to feel jealous
'cause they wish to fly and spread their
wings,
Just like the birds but unlike us
