Haunted Poem by Anita Clark

Haunted

Bring the thunder,
Bring the rain,
Taste the anger,
Feel the pain,

Walking down the one way path,
You approach,
Twisted laugh,
Your darkened eyes cry;
Tears of disdain,
Here you come,
Haunting again,
Shadowed by you.

She consumes me,
Corkscrews into my soul,
Her hand across my mouth, ,
Piercing into my core,
Bleeding,
Draining,
My identity away.

She's the smoke,
She thickens,
She chokes,
Taking over.

Inhabiting my internal cell,
Gagged and bound,
I lay still,
Unable to break free,
A living hell,
Anger and sorrow thrown free
Autumn leaves fall from their trees.
All I can do is wither,

Looking at the thunder through hollow eyes,
A familiar laugh is heard,
A shadow approaches through the heavy rain,
Tasting the anger,
I feel the pain.
