Have You Ever

Have you ever been in pain
The kind of pain that keeps you up at night
And no words can describe
Have you ever been lonely
So lonely your heart aches
And your cries go unheard
Have you ever been afraid
So afraid that someone will see the real you
And turn and walk away
Have you ever cut your skin
To let the pain, loneliness and fear drip away
Then wondered what people would say

That is for ever England. There shall be
In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
