Have You Ever? Poem by John Mashoro Mogodi

Have You Ever?

Rating: 1.5

Have you ever heard a bird sing
But you never see it no matter how hard you try
Have you ever seen a flower sick
But it never ever complained nor lied.

Have you ever been in such a state
Coz you’ve never imagined anything so beautiful
Have you ever seen her do something lame
Yet with her grace it seemed so suitable.

Have you ever looked for something
But when it appears you got it, it runs miles away
Have you ever felt like nothing
Coz the only thing you care about is so far astray.

Have you ever loved so wholly
But coz of the situation she can only sit and wish
Have you ever been so lonely
That you feel like Jonah: all lost and hopeless in a fish.

Have you ever...

We've all had that feeling of loneliness, loss, love and longing, we may never know the extent of our dreams our love our destiny, but in knowing that it exists we find a way to be.
