Have You Heard Poem by David Martin

Have You Heard

Rating: 5.0

Often times I have forgotten the sound of my own voice
Lost in your gaze
I would remain terrified
For simple smiles leave boys petrified

Admiring from a distance
Longing to approach
The stars above
Can’t you hear my silent love?

For words we would fail to speak
Our eyes would whisper when they meet
When loquacious lips can’t articulate
Then soulful eyes would communicate,

But sitting here three thousand miles away
You can’t see what my eyes have to say
Wanting you from a distance
I wonder, have you heard my silent heart
