He Feels Disappointed Poem by Francis Duggan

He Feels Disappointed

Of financial successes one who cannot tell
The one who knows of life in an earthly hell
The house he lives in he cannot claim as his own
And many the trying times of late he has known.

Though people like him in the World are not rare
Alone he must battle his ghosts of despair
Another man raises his two young daughters and makes love to his ex wife
And who would envy him in his miserable life.

To her he was a good husband and to their daughters a good dad
And that she fell out of love with him does seem quite sad
But such is life 'twould seem and he must go on
And the past like yesterday from his life gone.

To his wife a family allowance he must pay
Yet in the raising of his children he does not have a say
His ex wife and their daughters with her lover in a distant town
And he feels disappointed by life and let down.
