He Is Some Mother's Son Poem by Francis Duggan

He Is Some Mother's Son

Out of work and poor and racked by self doubt
And by life he is one who has been knocked about
And though the judgemental may say in life little he has done
Like them he was born to a woman he is some mother's son
And his mother feels proud of him despite his poverty
And she could not love him more did he happen to be
The president or prime minister a marevellous success
For his status in life she does not love him less
The battlers of life one can find anywhere
There are millions like him in the big World out there
So many financially embarrassed and burdened by care
And so many are poor for every millionaire
Though financially poor he is a good person and he never harms anyone
And his mother feels proud for to call him her son.
