He Must Be Away Again Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

He Must Be Away Again

Look at her!
What happened to her smile,
Her carefree bouncy stride?
Did you notice the flatness of
Her tone?
That Girl is sad to the bone,
Like her best friend died.
I hate it when she's like this.
He must be away again,
She's like that you know,
Every time he's gone some dam where
For more than a day...
That girl doesn't have any sense at all.
Never did when it came to him,
Never did and never will...
She better wake up to the truth of it.
She needs to pray on it.
Said she has, didn't do any good.
You know it's true.
What?
'There's no fool like an old fool.'
You can say that again!
'There's no fool like an old fool.'
Yea, but they say they are in love.
In what? In Love!
No wonder she's so crazy!

Dorothy-perfectly delightful! I loved your conversation with (whoever) at the end. Most unusual, and interesting. I know I'll remember this one! Bless, kate
