He’s Waiting Poem by Michael P. Johnson

He’s Waiting

Beyond the realm of time and sight
Beyond man’s wildest dream
Upon a throne of Fire and Light
Our Father reigns supreme

Leave for a while the crowded street
All anguish care and woe
Seek out a time your God to meet
And quietly say “Hello”

Speak as a child, humble and meek
Inquisitive of love
Call out “My God, The Truth I seek
Through Christ Your Lamb above”

I’ve sought the shadows of the night
Dark caverns of despair
Till sorrowful and heart contrite
These thoughts with you I share

Forgive the filthy life I’ve led
My selfish wayward path
The evil done the evil said
Lord save me from Your wrath

Reveal Yourself o Ancient One
Let grace no longer hide
Allow me live with Christ Your Son
Where darkness can’t reside

I’m calling out a wretch of sin
Full bitterness and guile
Through Jesus’ blood allow me win
My Father’s tender smile

I know my God You care for me
You watch me night and day
I know You want to set me free
And guide me Heaven’s Way”
