He Stands In Harbor Poem by Orion Lovell

He Stands In Harbor

Rating: 5.0

He stands in harbor watching all things go.
The sea now laughs as burdened ships sail out.
His sight's now frosted by the mournful flow.
Laid low like tides, he falls by passion's rout.
As he goes on, his thoughts lash to the dock.
He hears the Siren's call of days long past.
The sea has shrunk, no bigger than a loch.
He knows the misty course will never last.
But still the song gives salted memories,
He bears the anchor holding his heart down.
And while he feels the chanting of the seas,
He's loath to think that he should ever drown.
Waters of Love bring much of life to shame,
But true strength goes to those of seafoam flame.
