He Was A Man (Trigger Warning) Poem by B U Afnan

He Was A Man (Trigger Warning)

There were no tears
because he was a man
He grew up hiding his fears
because he was a man
No pressure should make him cave
because he was a man

Those guys bullied him
because he wasn't a man
His hair needed a trim(they said)
because he wasn't a man
He was always shoved
because he wasn't a man
And his head bowed
because he wasn't a man

He never told his mother
because he was a man
Never went complaining to his father
because he was a man
He himself bought the rope
because he was a man
He tied it to the fan
because he was a man

They called him names
because he wasn't a man
He wore glasses
because he wasn't a man
He missed those passes
because he wasn't a man

He tightened the rope
because he was a man
There were no tears
because he was a man
He never told his mother
because he was a man
He died that night
because he was a man
