Heaven Sent Children Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

Heaven Sent Children

Rating: 2.3

Did you know that God above,
Created you for me to love?
He raised you in a special place,
Until he brought us face to face.

He watched over you into your youth,
And molded you from foot to tooth.
I have to wonder from time to time,
How I was worthy for you to be mine?

Now when at dawn time I arise,
And look into your beautiful eyes,
I get that flutter in my heart,
And pray for joy that never parts.

I reach to kiss you on your lips,
And put my arms around your hips.
Time stands still, and I can see,
You are my child for eternity!

When you grow up I’ll still be proud
And praise you often and out loud.
No treasure on the earth could ever dent,
My treasured children, who are Heaven Sent!
