Heavenly Food Poem by Nenia Arnaiz Dulom

Heavenly Food

Rating: 3.5

What is there in Your banquet oh Lord
What is there for us to indulge
You open and reveal the delectable feast for us!

On Your table You laid out all Your open buffet
For our eyes to delight and marvel
And for our ears to listen and heed!

Your parable is like sumptuous appetizers
Full of meaning and substance to nourish
To enjoy and binge as no tomorrow will come next!

Every moment with You as You speak
Is like an insufficient minute against a thousand years
Not enough to fully satisfy the hunger and thirst!

Every seemingly hurtful and spiteful word of Your utterance
Every remark of rebuke or reproach that pierce
Is like a sweet promise and a melodic assurance!

Always come like a sweet and palatable to the taste
A set of delightful menu to spree each moment
That every hungry soul can gratify and feed!

Every complete message told and passed on
Across the land and earth's horizon
From corner to corner of earth's circumference!

To every human inhabitant and nation
From countless generation to generation
Is always like a basket full of surprises and wonderment!

You poured out all on earth and gathered
All the nourishing and sustaining words You uttered
From ancient Abraham's descendants;

Yes Lord to Your contemporaneous ones
Those who inscribed and compiled
What You have told and shared!

So Your flocks can freely eat
So Your children of all age
Can experience delight at Your feast!

You hold nothing back for Yourself
You offered even Your breath
To sustain us and to live! Amen.
