Here We Go Again! Poem by Denis Martindale

Another leader offers hope, another chance to thrive,
With promises to help us cope and even to survive.
With every kind of noble scheme the people want to hear,
As if we're living in a dream, that we're all meant to cheer.
With taxes rearranged once more, and workarounds to come,
With subtle changes yet in store, to shock us so we're dumb.

Just wait and see, some years from now, the awful mess we're in,
The kind we can't escape somehow, with no more chance to win.
God still wants tithes, and gifts of love, compassion to take place,
Yet who of us still has enough, such blessings to embrace?
If things don't change and God won't bless, what hope can yet remain?
And yet this truth Christ must impress, YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN!
