Heredity Poem by Tony Harrison

Heredity

Rating: 2.8

How you became a poet's a mystery!
Wherever did you get your talent from?

I say: I had two uncles, Joe and Harry-
one was a stammerer, the other dumb.

I watched a programme about Tony Harrison. I think he is a great poet, liked his attitude a lot and loved his poems especially when he read them out loud in his accent.

ButI bet both crafted ideas in their own way. Its not how you say it (Although a Yorkshire or Lancashire accent has its advantages) but WHAT is said. Sid John Gardner.
