i hide my hands
so no one even you could see
blood, tears, and lost hopes are stained on my skin
guilt of being a failure burns holes through me

i needed you to come up to me
during one of my dark and cold days
wishin you would look at me
and with no tears say...

'baby, look at me
why do you have so much pain and hurt inside
the guilt i see inside of you
should never be contained there.'

when you say that a single little tear slides down my cheek
but also no other emotions nor signs can show through
i show you my hands to where even everyone can see
i can not lie to you any longer

i see you smile knowing that you care
and you try to wash all of my horrible stains away
you made it seem easy to rid of all my pain
to wash my sins away was so exciting to see

but...then...i realize that i was just living a dream
of being happy one last time
i look down and see all the sins and stains still there
so i cover them and continue to hide my hands and arms once more
so you and everyone else cant see
