High Country Poem by Rachel The Hair Guru

High Country

Black velvet sky
diamond encrusted
Shooting star flies by
a wish entrusted
Silver moon glows
Ponderosas all around
A train horn blows
I focus on the sound
Rhythmic clank
one after another
My mind goes blank
then a roar of thunder
Monsoon breeze
stirs its scent in the air
rustles the trees
I am blessed to be there.
