Highways Poem by Abigail Hauschild

Highways

Something about highways
Makes me ache for places I've never known
The promise of adventure calls to me
Through the hills and trees
The abandoned buildings tell stories
Of memories dead and gone
The fast-paced pavement hurtles me
Towards a future I haven't decided on yet
As the white lines pass in a blur
I know I have not yet begun to live
