Hindu Temple On A Moonlit Night Poem by Davis Smith

Hindu Temple On A Moonlit Night

they were singing in the temple
women's voices raised in harmony
politely toning to the other
and to the other
in synchronicity

and a wise man
in the lotus
sat chanting words of wisdom

the rose so opened as silence tolled
nothing's to be as it was before
and gifts of white petal
fell to form their ground
this moonlit plain

Not many people can write a good poem using the word 'synchroncity, ' but Mr. Smith certainly did. Great poem. Mysterious and knowing at the same time.
