History Tells Poem by Peggy Chau

History Tells

The differences amongst nations
in culture, habit and language.
This is God’s creations
to punish we antagonistic humans.

The consequences if we are egocentric,
with rifles shooting, and atoms finally bombing.
Children whining for dad and women panic,
and men with wounds thinking of home.

The merciless slaughter of bows and arrows,
pistols and guns, grenades and missiles.
“Victory” alleged the colonels,
whilst innocences wailing and dying.

Peace, leaders seemingly strive to maintain.
Militaristic they are, no one deny.
Tough lessons for innocences again.
Battles and wars not refrained.

History does tell…
History does tell…
Yes, I was told…
And I was told history always repeats itself.
